Baybridge Clubhouse is a community of individuals who recognize the impact of mental illness on its membership. We strive to create an environment conducive to growth through employment, education and meaningful relationships within the standards provided by the State of Massachusetts and the International Center for Clubhouse Development. Founded in 1987 Baybridge is part of a network of services offered by the Department of Mental Health through our auspice agency The May Institute. It is a place of friendship, hope and community that offers assistance and support for Cape Cod men and women in mental health recovery. Over the years the club has helped hundreds of individuals and today serves an active membership of 260. Located in the center of Hyannis, Baybridge is open 365 days a year, the clubhouse is run by members and staff together in all its functions. From meal preparations to installing software and running a computer network, we participate as peers and partners. Baybridge is open to anyone with a diagnosis of mental illness. Baybridge is a community support program funded through The May Institute. The core of the clubhouse is vocational. Baybridge is comprised of five working units. They are: the Cafe Unit, the Membership Services Unit, Administration Unit, Employment Unit and thr Environmental Services Unit. Members and staff work together in these units to maintain the clubhouse community. Work is a key factor in rehabilitation towards a successful and productive life. |
